Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about WAS membership, account access, and mini-conferences.

Account Access & Login

Go to westernapiculturalsociety.org/login, click Lost Password? Enter your email and click the ‘Get New Password’ button.

Don’t worry — this is a common hiccup, and it’s easy to fix. A reset link shows as “invalid” if it has expired, if it has already been used once, or if you requested more than one reset (only the newest link works).

  1. Go to the login page and click Lost Password?.
  2. Enter the email address your membership is under and request a fresh reset link.
  3. Open the newest reset email right away and click the link just once.
  4. If the link still doesn’t work, copy the entire link and paste it into your browser’s address bar (email programs sometimes break a long link across two lines).
  5. Check your spam or junk folder if the reset email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes.

Your lifetime membership is in good standing — lifetime memberships never expire.

  1. Go to westernapiculturalsociety.org/login and click Lost Password?.
  2. Enter the email associated with your membership and request a reset link.
  3. Open the newest reset email, set a new password, and sign in.

If the website doesn’t recognize your email, your account may be under an older email or need reconnecting on the new site — contact us through the Contact form at the bottom of our website with your name and the email you used when you became a lifetime member, and we’ll restore your access.

  1. Go to westernapiculturalsociety.org/login.
  2. Click Lost Password?
  3. Enter the email your membership is under and click ‘Get New Password’.
  4. Open the newest reset email and set a new password.
  5. Sign in, then go to membership renewal, pick your level, and complete payment. (5) Use the same email your membership is under — a different email can create a duplicate account.

Memberships run a full year (365 days from payment), so it may also simply not be due yet; and if the site says you’re “already a member,” you may already be signed in.

Still stuck? Contact us through the Contact form on our website and send a screenshot of what you’re seeing.

If you can still sign in, update the email in your account profile. If you can’t sign in anymore, contact us through the Contact form at the bottom of our website with your name, your old email, and your new email, and we’ll update it for you.

Please don’t create a second account with the new email — that splits your membership and library access between two accounts.

Go to westernapiculturalsociety.org/login, click Lost Password? Enter your email and click the ‘Get New Password’ button. If the system still doesn’t recognize you, contact us through the Contact form on our website and send screenshots so we can sort it out.

Membership & Benefits

One year — memberships expire 365 days after payment.

No. Your membership runs for one full year (365 days) from the date you join or renew, whenever that happens to be. Join in March, and your membership is good through the following March.

Membership includes the full library of past video conferences, with the rare exception of a research talk the presenter didn’t clear for posting.

Business membership is for commercial beekeepers and associated beekeeping industries. A club membership includes five free livestream tickets plus one website login with member-only features.

No — only one membership per account, so a club must join with an email address separate from any individual member’s account.

Mini-Conferences & Events

Yes — non-members are welcome, a few ways:

  1. Get a free access code from a bee club — clubs receive five free tickets to each mini-conference and can share a code with you, and with a club’s code you watch free. The code zeroes out the $15 ticket price at checkout, and you’ll receive the standard confirmation email.
  2. Buy a single-session ticket for $15 — it includes access to the recording of that mini-conference for 30 days afterward.
  3. Join WAS: members attend every mini-conference, register once and are set for the rest of the year, and get on-demand access to the full video library and any supplementary materials our speakers provide.

Mini-conferences are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 7:00 PM Mountain Time. Each session — topic, speaker, and registration link — is on the WAS website and at wasevents.vfairs.com, and is announced by email and on our Facebook page.

To register:

  1. Go to wasevents.vfairs.com and choose the mini-conference.
  2. Complete the short registration; first-timers set up a login with an email and password (bee club members: enter your club’s registration code. Entering a club code brings the $15 ticket price to $0 at checkout — no payment is needed, and the confirmation email you receive confirms you’re registered; non-members: a single-session ticket is $15 and includes 30 days of access to that session’s recording). Members: you register once, and that registration is good for the rest of the year.
  3. Watch for your confirmation email.
  4. On conference night, sign in early (doors open one hour before), go through the lobby to the auditorium, and click the presentation screen.

Livestreams run on the separate vFairs platform: wasevents.vfairs.com — virtual doors open 1 hour before the event. Log in with the email and password you originally registered with vFairs, go through the lobby to the auditorium, and click the presentation screen.

All WAS times are Mountain Time — mini-conferences start at 7:00 PM Mountain. That’s 6:00 PM Pacific, 8:00 PM Central, and 9:00 PM Eastern.

Yes. The events platform runs in your web browser — phone, tablet, or computer. Just sign in at wasevents.vfairs.com. A larger screen is nicer for the slides, but any device works.

A club membership includes five free livestream tickets per event. Registration codes are issued by our ticketing partner (vFairs) — share one code with each of five members, and each member registers on the events page. When a member enters the code at checkout, it takes the $15 ticket price down to $0 — there’s nothing to pay. They complete the regular registration, and the automated confirmation email they receive confirms their spot is reserved.

  1. Use your club’s five free tickets — WAS issues your club five registration codes through our ticketing partner (vFairs); give one code to each of five members.
  2. Register and sign in on the events platform (wasevents.vfairs.com) with your code; on conference night, pass through the lobby to the auditorium and click the presentation screen — virtual doors open one hour before.
  3. More than five? Additional club members are welcome to register individually — and a club can also gather together and watch the mini-conference together as part of a bee club meeting.
  4. Can’t make it live? Recordings are posted to the member video library afterward (rare exceptions aside).

Registration codes for each mini-conference are issued by our ticketing partner. If your club hasn’t received its codes a few days before a session, or a code is rejected at registration, contact us through the Contact form on our website and we’ll get it sorted out before the session — please don’t wait until conference night.

If you are a WAS member, you are automatically registered on vFairs; you do not need to register for each mini-conference. Go to wasevents.vfairs.com and follow the login instructions using the email address associated with your WAS membership. Check your spam or junk folder for any access emails. If you still cannot log in, contact westernapiculturalsociety@gmail.com before the event for assistance.

No. Anyone with a complimentary pass can access the mini-conference with that pass. You do not need to pre-register or wait for a confirmation email. Follow the access instructions included with your pass. If you have trouble logging in, contact westernapiculturalsociety@gmail.com before the event for assistance.

Recordings are posted to the WAS video library for members after each session — sign in at westernapiculturalsociety.org and open the video library.

Almost every session is posted; occasionally a presenter (usually a researcher) asks that their talk not be posted, and we honor that. (Non-members: your $15 ticket to a session includes access to that session’s recording for 30 days.)

Yes — ideas are welcome. Speakers for the first half of 2027 are being secured now.
